Is Thanos in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy?
Note: If you have not played Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, the rest of this article will contain spoilers.
Yes, Thanos is in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy but not in the way you think.
While the beginning of the game seems to claim that Thanos is dead, there are many hints that he may have survived. For example, Drax doesn't actually remember killing Thanos—Drax passed out right when the final blow was supposed to be dealt. They don't even have a body, but Thanos still appears in this game.

Thanos is not the most important character in this game, but he is in the Marvel universe. Here Thanos is mentioned a couple of times and he is in the game at one point. However, he makes an appearance in a form of memory inside Drax's mind.
Thanos appears only as a boss fight, where Peter, Rocket, Groot, and Gamora must face him in order to save Drax from the influence of The Universal Church of Truth.
There is also a possibility that Thanos is still alive. Drax feels Thanos's life force which teases a possibility that Thanos is not dead after all. So everything the game told you could turn out to only be a red herring for something big to come in the future.
