How to hatch eggs in Sims 4: Cottage Living

Sims 4: Cottage Living adds adorable new animals to the game including chickens, cows, llamas, and more. Chickens are able to lay eggs to make food with, enter into competitions, or even hatch a little chick. To hatch eggs in the Sims 4, you must first purchase a chicken coop (found in the activities and skills section of build mode), then purchase a hen and a rooster.

Hens will lay eggs every day, but there will not be a chance the egg is hatchable unless there is both a hen and a rooster living in the same coop. If there is both a hen and rooster in the coop, each egg will have a chance to be hatchable.

Hatchable eggs can be put back into the chicken coop for the hen to warm for a little while. Once the hen leaves the egg, players will have the option to hatch the egg. To hatch the egg, walk up to the chicken coop, click on the hatchable egg, and select "Hatch Egg". The Sim will pick up the egg and a baby chick will emerge from the egg. If the Sim does not hatch the egg, it will still hatch within a period of time on its own.

There is a way to increase the chances of a hen laying a hatchable egg. Feeding your hen a Flirty Animal Treat will increase the chances of laying a hatchable egg. The chickens still need to be taken care of by cleaning the coop, feeding them well, and increasing relationships with them.
