How to get Hidden Abilities in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Pokémon can have different abilities based on their species. Typically Pokémon can have one of two abilities, but some abilities are hidden. These hidden abilities are not easy to come by and cannot be acquired by catching wild Pokémon.
You have two options to get hidden abilities in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The first is to breed Pokémon that already have their hidden ability. The second is to use an item called the Ability Patch. You will have to beat the Elite Four before getting this item.

The Ability Patch is found in the Battle Tower. It costs 200 Battles Points (BP). This will change a Pokémon's ability to its hidden ability. With this high price tag, you should ensure that you are sure of your decision before using it on a Pokémon. We recommend turning off the autosave feature first.
Pokémon that have their hidden ability can pass this trait down. Female Pokémon are more likely to pass it down, but males can too. This is a good way to create multiples of Pokémon with hidden abilities, but grinding for Ability Patches is still your best bet.
