How to download Twitch VODs

Downloading a Twitch VOD can be urgent, especially if you are worried about losing access to that content in the future. Thankfully, it doesn't require too much work to take Twitch videos offline and into your gallery.

How to save your own VODs

Saving your Twitch account's own VODs is a matter of planning ahead. To do this:

Go to the Twitch site while you are logged in and go to Settings.

From there, navigate to the Channels and Videos tab.

Scroll down until you get to the Settings tab and then the Stream tab within there.

Find VOD Settings and check Store Past Broadcasts.

Now, your broadcasts will save as VODs when you are finished streaming. To download them:

Go to your profile in the top right and choose Video Producer.

Filter videos by Past Broadcast.

Once you find the VOD you want to download, choose the Three Dots to the right and hit Download.

How to download other streamers' VODs

Downloading the VODs of streamers is a bit more tricky and less direct. You will need to use third-party software rather than a specific function from Twitch to do this. To download someone else's VOD, you need an app like Twitch Leecher. Depending on the service, it may allow players to either search channels for VODs or it will have users input a link of the VOD they wish to save. Some other apps that you can use are Twitch.tv Downloader, UnTwitch, and Clipr.
