Genshin Impact: How to Craft and Enhance Weapons

In the world of Genshin Impact, there is a whole amount of various ways to keep yourself busy. From exploring, slaying monsters, finishing dungeons, completing quests, plus so much more. There is also a whole cooking and crafting mechanic in the game, whether you're using a blacksmith or an alchemist.  Of course, you can find weapons and supplies in chests all of Teyvat, but sometimes you need a professional to do the job! This guide will tell you how to use the blacksmith to craft new weapons.

How to Craft Weapons

The first massive city you will come across is Mondstadt; this location will be the primary hub for all of your needs. Wagner, the Blacksmith, is located to your left as you enter the city gate. However, to use him, you must first complete a simple quest for him, but there's a high chance you already have the materials needed to complete it if you've explored the area looting everything in sight. He asks for some Iron Ore, which can be located outside the city in Iron Ore Deposits next to cliffs.

For those who haven't found any ore yet, no worries.  Head to the player location in the image above, just north of the Fast Travel waypoint, but be careful as it's located in a camp of Hilichurls. Dispatch the enemies and then start whacking the ore deposit; you'll notice it has a health bar, keep hitting it until that depletes, and you'll get yourself a chunk or two of Iron Ore.

Head back to Wagner, and you'll complete the quest, and now his services are there to be used. At the start of the game, you won't have the required resources to start making anything of value; however, you can make the first Enhancement Ore using Iron Ore. The Enhancement Ore can be used to give 400EXP towards leveling up a weapon.

How to Enhance Weapons

With this Enhancement Ore or any other weapons, you can level up any weapon you desire to make it stronger. With lower-level weapons, this is the quickest way to level it up, but it slowly becomes less useful the more levels the weapon has. The higher level the weapon or Ore, the more EXP is given to the weapon.

To enhance a weapon, head to the character menu, and select Weapons. Make sure the weapon you want to enhance is equipped; if not, make sure to do so by hitting Switch. Next to Switch in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, you should see Enhance. Click on that, and a new window should appear with Details, Enhance, and sometimes Refine on the left side of the screen. For this guide, we'll be focusing on Enhance only.

Once Enhance is clicked, the weapon information will appear on the right side of the screen and a few boxes at the bottom right. If you hit the plus signs in the boxes, a window appears on the left with the materials you can add to make the weapon stronger; these can be Ores or other weapons. Six materials can be added to the weapon using the six boxes, so select the materials you want for this purpose and add one Enhancement Ore.

You should notice at the screen's top right where it shows the weapons level; a number +400 will appear above the level gauge. This is the amount of EXP you are giving to the weapon, so in this case, +400. If this EXP levels up the weapon, a yellow number will appear to the right of the weapon level. So if you're using a level 1 sword and give it a +400 EXP, it should level up 2 times, so they'll be a +2.

If all this sounds too complicated, next to the material boxes, there is an Auto Add button; if you click this, the game will add everything for you. The dropdown menu to its right means that it will only take 1 Star materials for its use. You can change this by clicking the dropdown menu and selecting 2 Star Materials and Under or 3 Star Materials and Under.
