A new groundbreaking Warzone experience to be revealed in late 2022, still F2P and built from the ground up

In their first-quarter earnings press release of 2022, Call of Duty publishers Activision announced a net revenue of $1.77 Billion across all titles. This amount is comparatively lower than last year's Q1 earnings of $2.28 Billion. In addition to the revenue figures, the company also talked about the expansion of the Call of Duty franchise and their future plans.

Activision has once again confirmed that this year’s Call of Duty is a sequel to Modern Warfare 2019 and that its development is spearheaded by Infinity Ward. The premium CoD experience of 2022 will be accompanied by the highly anticipated Warzone 2, which is expected to be revealed later this year.

The report further mentioned that, "The new free-to-play Warzone experience, which is built from the ground-up alongside the premium game, features groundbreaking innovations." Players are also expecting some sort of announcement soon on the forthcoming Warzone game for mobile devices.

Moreover, the teases for Modern Warfare 2022 have already begun, with Infinity Ward changing their Twitter profile pic to what looks like the iconic "Ghost" character from the franchise. Rumors suggest that a reveal trailer for the game is expected to arrive on May 30.
